As the GHMC elections approach, internal struggles have intensified within the Bharatiya Janata Party in Telangana. The party is aiming to win at least one of the three corporations with a clear majority and strengthen its position in Hyderabad. After facing setbacks in recent municipal elections, senior leaders are now focusing on better planning and strategies. Reports suggest that the central leadership has collected detailed feedback on around 300 divisions and will closely monitor the entire election process.
The party is also dealing with internal differences among leaders. The absence of key leader T. Raja Singh has created uncertainty, especially in areas where he had strong influence. While some leaders want him back in the party, others are opposing his return. At the same time, there are concerns that strong candidates are not available for many seats, and internal group conflicts are affecting preparations.
To avoid past mistakes, the high command is planning to give tickets only to candidates with strong public support, ignoring senior leaders recommendations. Financial support will also be directly monitored to prevent misuse. There is a possibility of appointing central ministers as in-charges for the elections. The leadership has warned party members to avoid internal conflicts and work together or face strict action if their actions harm the party’s chances.
