BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao leveled explosive allegations, stating that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has paved the way for a massive ₹5 lakh crore land scam under the guise of industrial land regularization in Hyderabad, the state capital.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, KTR claimed that the so-called regularization of industrial lands is nothing but a well-planned blueprint for the largest land scam in the country’s history. He alleged that 9,292 acres of highly valuable land are being targeted through a policy intentionally crafted to benefit select individuals.
KTR asserted that allowing regularization by paying just 30% of the government-mandated registration value would facilitate the transfer of assets worth thousands of crores into private hands. In contrast, he noted that the previous BRS government had strictly mandated 100% to 200% of SRO rates to maintain transparency and prevent misuse.
He further alleged that during the recent Cabinet meeting, the groundwork for this mega scandal was laid out, and that close associates and family members of CM Revanth Reddy had already entered into agreements for the concerned lands. He ridiculed the government for rushing the process with a plan that includes just 7 days for applications, another 7 days for approvals, and 45 days for full regularization, calling it a suspiciously hurried exercise.
According to KTR, the newly introduced Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation Policy has effectively turned into an ATM for the Congress party and Revanth Reddy. He warned that industrialists participating in this scheme may face serious legal complications in the future.
KTR declared that the BRS is prepared to take the legal route if necessary and assured that once their party returns to power, a thorough investigation will be conducted into every transaction related to industrial lands, with strict action against those found guilty. He also accused the Congress government of misusing the TS-iPASS system, originally created to promote industrial growth, by converting it into a mechanism for selling industrial lands.
