BRS Deputy Floor Leader and former minister Harish Rao has strongly criticized the Telangana government over the delay in paying salaries to Anganwadi workers. He questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's promises of empowering women financially while alleging that nearly 62,000 Anganwadi workers have been facing hardships due to non-payment of salaries for the past two months.
Harish Rao stated that the previous BRS government had significantly increased the salaries of Anganwadi teachers and helpers and upgraded their status to enhance their dignity and welfare. He alleged that despite assurances made in the Congress party's election manifesto regarding salary hikes and job security, several promises remain unfulfilled. The BRS leader demanded the immediate release of pending salaries and arrears for upgraded mini-Anganwadi workers and urged the government to address their concerns without delay.
