The DMK has launched a sharp attack on the opposition INDIA (INDI) bloc, stating that the alliance effectively no longer exists after its fallout with the Congress party. Senior DMK leader D.K.S. Elangovan alleged that the Congress “betrayed” a long-standing ally by breaking ties and attempting new political alignments. He further claimed that the party benefited significantly from the DMK alliance in Tamil Nadu, including a Rajya Sabha seat and 28 Assembly constituencies, and criticized its changing political stance.
Elangovan also remarked that the DMK intends to give a “new shape” to its alliance strategy in the state, while accusing the Congress of failing to change its political behavior over time. He compared Congress’ approach in Tamil Nadu to the BJP’s national strategy, suggesting that the party’s actions have weakened trust within the coalition framework.
