No Growth in AP, Let Alone Development: YS Sharmila

No Growth in AP, Let Alone Development: YS Sharmila

APCC president YS Sharmila has strongly criticised the Chandrababu Naidu-led Andhra Pradesh government, questioning its claims of strong economic growth and development. She alleged that the government’s claims of achieving a 10.7% growth rate in the second quarter of the 2025-26 financial year do not reflect the ground realities. Sharmila questioned the government over unemployment, farmers’ concerns, law and order, electricity charges, Polavaram and the progress of investments.

Sharmila alleged that farmers have been struggling without adequate minimum support prices and government assistance, while law and order concerns have also increased. She questioned the government’s decision regarding the Polavaram project, the burden of electricity charges on people and the lack of transparency over investments announced during the past two years. Calling these concerns questions raised by the public rather than merely her own criticism, she urged the coalition government to introspect on its claims of economic growth.
