KTR’s Key Demand on Kanti Velugu

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has demanded that the Telangana government continue the Kanti Velugu eye-care scheme, which he alleged was stopped by the Congress government. Free eye medical camps have been organised in Sircilla district to provide eye-care services to people. KTR said he would personally take responsibility for ensuring free surgeries for 171 people identified as requiring operations.

KTR said it would be good if the government recognised the need for such services and restarted the Kanti Velugu scheme. He urged the government to take inspiration from the free eye-care initiatives being conducted in Sircilla and restore the programme so that quality eye treatment remains accessible to poor and rural communities.
