CPI leader Narayana once again made strong remarks on the issue of movie ticket prices. He criticized film producers for shamelessly demanding higher ticket rates and accused governments of approving such hikes without proper judgment. Narayana questioned whether it was fair to burden the public by increasing ticket prices under the pretext of recovering losses from big-budget films.
He further asked who had forced filmmakers to spend hundreds of crores on making movies. Highlighting the lack of basic facilities in theatres, Narayana said that moviegoers are not even allowed to carry water bottles or snacks like biscuits. In such circumstances, he argued that increasing ticket prices amounts to exploiting the audience.
