Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held another meeting to discuss seat-sharing arrangements within the ruling alliance for the upcoming local body elections. Pawan Kalyan visited the Chief Minister’s residence after the alliance partners reportedly failed to reach a consensus on several Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) seats. With the nomination deadline ending that day, the leaders reportedly held discussions for around 30 minutes to resolve the differences and finalise the allocation of seats.
Aspirants from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena Party and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have reportedly been filing nominations in constituencies where they hope to contest, creating competition within the alliance. The latest meeting focused on reaching a consensus in such constituencies and avoiding overlapping claims among alliance partners. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan had also met on Thursday to discuss seat-sharing arrangements. The outcome of the latest discussions was not specified in the information provided.
