APSEC Directs Officials to Ensure Protection for Candidates

The deadline for filing nominations for MPTC, ZPTC, Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad president posts in Andhra Pradesh will end at 5 p.m. today. In this context, the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (APSEC) has issued key instructions to officials. Returning Officers (ROs) and district election officials have been directed to respond immediately to complaints alleging that candidates are being obstructed from filing their nominations.

The State Election Commission has instructed officials to ensure adequate protection for candidates who face such obstacles. It has also directed district Superintendents of Police (SPs) to take immediate action and coordinate with ROs to ensure that nominations are filed within the stipulated deadline. The commission has issued special orders to the concerned officials in this regard.
