Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who had earlier claimed that some state ministers were being targeted through sting operations, has made another serious allegation. He claimed that attempts were made to conduct sting operations against him and Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan, allegedly using Meta smart glasses. Speaking in an interview with a local media outlet, Shivakumar said he became suspicious when a businessman who came to meet him was wearing the smart glasses. He alleged that the individual attempted to secretly record their conversation under the pretext of discussing business matters.
Shivakumar said he tried to gather information about the businessman’s movements and meetings with other political leaders. He alleged that the individual did not wear the Meta glasses when meeting NDA leaders. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed suspicion that the incident could be part of a larger operation targeting him and other Congress leaders, and urged ministers to remain vigilant. His allegations have triggered discussion in Karnataka’s political circles. Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy had previously criticised Shivakumar’s remarks about sting operations, alleging that he was using the issue to keep ministers under his control. Kumaraswamy also accused Shivakumar of conducting operations against ministers in the Siddaramaiah government as part of an alleged bid to secure the chief minister’s post.
