Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the government is working to provide poor families with full ownership rights over their homes. At the ‘Pedalaku Pattabhishekam’ programme in Visakhapatnam, he distributed house ownership title deeds to 28,445 families from 11 mandals. Officials said 399 acres, comprising 19,33,853 square yards of government land, has been regularised for the beneficiaries, with the land valued at around ₹8,874 crore.
Naidu said the title deeds would provide legal ownership to families who had been waiting for rights over their homes for decades. He said beneficiaries would be able to exercise ownership rights over their properties and access bank loans. He also directed officials to expedite the process for other families awaiting title deeds. Naidu said Visakhapatnam has the potential to emerge as a major tourism and logistics hub and highlighted ongoing development and irrigation initiatives for the city.
