Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that central security forces will remain deployed in West Bengal for at least seven days after the Assembly elections. He clarified that the forces would not be withdrawn immediately, even if the BJP comes to power in the state.
Addressing the public after a roadshow in Behala, Amit Shah urged voters to exercise their franchise without fear. The Behala region is scheduled to go to polls tomorrow in the second and final phase of voting. “Do come out and vote on the 29th. There is no need to fear goons,” he said. He also added that the Election Commission has made extensive security arrangements for the polling process.
