Janasena president Pawan Kalyan, who has long been a reliable ally of the BJP in South India, has now become a significant political force through his strong advocacy of Sanatan Dharma. Over time, he has emerged as one of the key faces of this cultural and ideological movement within the NDA, particularly in the southern states. His association with the BJP has grown stronger, as the party is strategically projecting him as a representative of the Sanatan Dharma sentiment to connect with Hindu voters across the Telugu states.
This was clearly reflected in Telangana BJP leader Bandi Sanjay’s recent campaign speech for Jubilee Hills candidate Deepak Reddy. Addressing a crowd, Sanjay praised Pawan Kalyan as a true follower of Sanatan Dharma and a valuable member of the NDA alliance. He expressed confidence that Janasena fans and Pawan Kalyan supporters would stand with the BJP to ensure victory. With Pawan’s rising popularity and the appeal of his Sanatani image, the BJP seems to be eyeing his strong base not only in Andhra Pradesh but also in Hyderabad’s influential voter sections.
