Tensions were reported at several locations in Andhra Pradesh as nominations for the MPTC elections continued. In Rompicherla, Palnadu district, former Narasaraopet MLA Gopireddy arrived at the nomination centre with around 300 people. Police stopped the group, citing the enforcement of Section 144 and restrictions on large gatherings. A confrontation followed, and YSRCP leaders allegedly attacked police personnel. The Narasaraopet Rural Circle Inspector sustained injuries in the incident. Police subsequently resorted to a lathi-charge against YSRCP workers to bring the situation under control.
Tension was also reported in Tondangi, Kakinada district, where former minister Dadisetti Raja arrived at the nomination centre with candidates from his party. An argument reportedly broke out after police pointed to the restrictions under Section 144, followed by a scuffle between TDP and YSRCP supporters. In Sudum village of the Punganur constituency in Annamayya district, workers from the two parties allegedly attacked each other near the nomination centre. An unidentified group also reportedly set fire to a car belonging to TDP leader Pavan Kumar Reddy. Further details about the incidents and any subsequent police action were not provided in the report.
