Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to complete National Highway projects worth ₹1.4 lakh crore by 2029. Reviewing national and state highway projects at the CM’s camp office in Amaravati, he emphasized the expansion of the national highway network, improvement of road density, and speedy execution of ongoing NH works. The Chief Minister underlined that reducing logistics and transportation costs should be the core objective of road infrastructure development in the state.
CM Chandrababu instructed officials to ensure seamless road connectivity to key ports such as Mulpeta, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam, and Krishnapatnam, linking hinterland regions and neighboring states for efficient cargo movement. He called for upgrading existing two-lane highways into four- and six-lane corridors and completing the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor by 2027. He also directed early preparation of DPRs for the Kharagpur–Amaravati Greenfield Expressway. Stressing quality and timelines, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh should emerge as a national benchmark in highway project execution.
