Asaduddin Owaisi Challenges Amit Shah Over UCC Implementation in Goa

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Goa. Owaisi questioned whether the UCC being implemented in states such as Uttarakhand, Gujarat and Assam would also be introduced in Goa.

Owaisi also pointed to differences in the existing civil code in Goa, claiming that it contains separate provisions governing Hindu and Catholic marriages. He questioned the Centre’s approach towards UCC implementation and sought clarity on whether the same framework would be applied uniformly in Goa as well.
