AP government decides to set up zonal system

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to set up a new zonal system. According to this, the state will be divided into three zones namely Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Rayalaseema. Visakhapatnam zone will have 9 districts, Amaravati zone will have 8 districts and Rayalaseema zone will have 9 districts. This zonal plan has been jointly prepared by NITI Aayog and Singaporean institutions. A steering committee has been formed under the leadership of CM Chandrababu to implement and monitor this system.

A senior IAS officer will be appointed as CEO for each zone. Yuvraj will take charge as CEO for Visakhapatnam zone, Meena for Amaravati zone and Krishnababu for Rayalaseema zone. Official orders to this effect will be issued in two days.
