Unlike other South Indian states where a single capital city drives development, Andhra Pradesh has faced a prolonged struggle in finalising its capital. Even after more than a decade since bifurcation, the state witnessed political uncertainty over its capital status. The issue intensified after the previous government proposed a three-capital model, which led to legal, political, and administrative complications.

The ongoing debate highlights the unique challenges Andhra Pradesh faces compared to other states where capital cities enjoy unanimous political support.
