Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has given formal approval for the transfer of all conventional missile systems developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to Indian industries for indigenous production. The Defence Ministry announced the decision on Tuesday, describing it as an important step towards strengthening domestic capabilities in defence manufacturing.
According to the ministry, the initiative is intended to promote self-reliance in the defence sector, reduce India’s dependence on imported military systems and encourage greater participation by domestic industries in advanced defence production. The transfer of technologies developed by DRDO is expected to support indigenous manufacturing and further strengthen India’s defence industrial base.
