Hyderabad Task Force Arrests 12 Alleged Fake Doctors

Hyderabad City Task Force police have arrested 12 people who allegedly operated clinics using fake or unrecognised medical qualifications and treated patients without the required credentials. According to police, some of the accused reportedly used misleading claims about their qualifications, opened clinics in residential areas and attracted patients by offering easily accessible treatment. Authorities warned that seeking medical care from unqualified practitioners, even for minor ailments, can pose serious risks to patients' health.

Police said one of the accused, identified as D. Ramashekar Reddy, allegedly operated Sri Aqua First Aid Centre at Rahmathnagar Cross Road. Though he had completed D.Pharmacy, police alleged that he was practising as a doctor and was also associated with a medical shop. Another accused, R. Sudhakar, was described as an anaesthesia technician who allegedly joined him in running the clinic. Police further alleged that expired injections and medicines were being administered to patients. M. Bharathi, who had worked as a nurse after completing a paramedical course, allegedly treated children at a first-aid centre, administering IV fluids and injections and even stitching wounds. K. Mahesh Rao, who had studied for a BA degree, allegedly presented himself as a doctor in the Jubilee Hills area and reportedly administered injections and IV fluids after collecting fees from patients.

Hyderabad DCP Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath reportedly cautioned the public against approaching unqualified practitioners simply because they charge lower fees. He said legal action would be taken against people found providing medical treatment without the necessary qualifications. Police said the investigation would continue and that further details regarding the alleged fake qualifications, medicines and medical equipment seized from the accused would be examined.
