Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his heartfelt Sankranti greetings to the people of the Telugu states, especially farmers, through a special message. He said that Makara Sankranti, which marks the Sun’s transition into the zodiac sign Capricorn, symbolizes India’s rich culture and traditions. The festival, he noted, honors the hard work of farmers, highlights the deep bond between humanity and nature, and inspires people to move forward with renewed hope and determination.
Across the Telugu states, although this harvest festival is celebrated under different names, the spirit of joy and unity remains the same, the Prime Minister said. Emphasizing that farmers are the backbone of the nation’s development, he expressed hope that this Sankranti would bring happiness, peace, good health, and prosperity to every family in the Telugu states.
