YSR Kadapa district has always been a strong bastion for the YSRCP. However, dissatisfaction is growing within party cadres as some local leaders’ behaviour has damaged the party’s image, contributing to the loss of the Kadapa Assembly seat.
Recently, Jagan appointed former minister P. Ramasubba Reddy as YSRCP coordinator for Jammalamadugu, replacing former MLA Sudhir Reddy due to complaints that he was inaccessible to the cadre. MP Avinash Reddy announced that Sudhir will likely be given an MLC position.
The cadre now insists that similar corrective measures must be taken in Kadapa Assembly constituency as well. Former Deputy CM Amzath Basha is facing serious opposition from within the party. His family members' conduct has reportedly caused political damage, and dissatisfaction against them is strong at the grassroots level.
Leaders are reminding Jagan that the era of “vote for me because I asked” is over. Voters are now judging candidates based on their capability and character. They believe that continuing Amzath Basha in Kadapa could lead to another defeat. Hence, the cadre strongly suggests appointing another minority leader as the new in-charge to revive the party’s dominance.
Now the big question is--
Will Jagan listen to public opinion or stick to his own decision?
This choice will decide the future of YSRCP in Kadapa.
