Several players from the West Indies and South Africa teams are reportedly stranded in Kolkata following their early exit from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 due to flight restrictions. The situation has drawn attention after former England captain Michael Vaughan raised the issue on social media, questioning why the teams were still unable to travel even days after their elimination from the tournament.

Vaughan pointed out that while England players were arranged a charter flight within 36 hours after being knocked out, West Indies and South Africa players have remained stuck in the city for several days. His remarks sparked discussions among cricket fans and analysts about logistical arrangements and whether all teams are being treated equally during major international tournaments.
