Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu remarked that God seemed selfish, saying that first Ghantasala was taken away, and later SPB was taken as well. He described SP Balasubrahmanyam as a true embodiment of vocal supremacy and praised his extraordinary voice, stating that it could effortlessly deliver every emotion desired by a music director, like an inexhaustible vessel.
On Monday, Venkaiah Naidu unveiled the statue of renowned singer SP Balu at Ravindra Bharathi. As the Chief Minister was on an official visit to Delhi, he could not attend the event, and Minister Sridhar Babu represented the state government. Following the unveiling, a programme organised by the state government was held at Ravindra Bharathi, where Venkaiah Naidu, Minister Sridhar Babu, SP Balu’s sister and noted singer SP Sailaja, and his son SP Charan addressed the gathering.

On this occasion, SP Balasubrahmanyam’s sister, eminent playback singer SP Sailaja, revealed that installing a statue at Ravindra Bharathi was SP Balu’s last wish. She added that although several statues of SP Balu already exist across Andhra Pradesh, fulfilling his desire in this manner stands as a great honour for music lovers.
