Bengal Governor serious over Kolkata Messi tour arrangements, directs government to submit report

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has publicly apologised over the chaos that occurred during Messi’s tour. Expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to fans, she sought their patience and understanding. She acknowledged that there were management lapses during the event and assured that responsibility would be taken and corrective measures implemented.

Mamata Banerjee also announced the formation of a special committee to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident. She stated that strict steps would be taken to ensure such lapses do not recur in the future and that greater care would be exercised in organising international-level events. The Chief Minister emphasised that the government would take all necessary actions to ensure that fans’ trust is not affected.
