Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha was arrested while protesting against illegal constructions on the Musi River in Narsingi. She joined local residents and began a protest at 4 PM, demanding that action be taken against buildings constructed by encroaching on the river. She clearly stated that the protest would continue until HYDRA bulldozers arrived at the site. Later, police arrested Kavitha along with several Jagruthi leaders and shifted them to Narsingi Police Station.

Speaking to the media during her arrest, Kavitha said it was unfair for the police to use force against her. She alleged that authorities were demolishing houses of poor people while ignoring large buildings constructed by influential persons in the middle of the river. She said permissions were earlier given by the BRS government and are now being continued by the Congress government. She also pointed out that while rules say constructions must be 30 meters away from the riverbank, some powerful people were allowed to build just 5 meters away. Kavitha said Telangana Jagruthi will continue a legal fight against these illegal constructions.
