The Telangana government has officially approved the construction of an airport in Adilabad district. For this project, around 700 acres of land have been earmarked for acquisition. Among the six regional airports planned for development across Telangana, Adilabad has been selected as one of the key locations. According to the Techno-Economic Feasibility Report submitted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), setting up an airport in Adilabad is considered viable. Following this, the district collector has been directed to begin the land acquisition process immediately.
Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj has issued official orders in this regard. The proposed 700 acres will be developed as a joint-use airfield. The project will be implemented in coordination with the state government, AAI, and the Civil Aviation Department, under the supervision of both central and state authorities.
