Ahmedabad is witnessing a massive surge in demand ahead of the T20 World Cup Final between India and New Zealand. Thousands of cricket fans are planning to travel to the city to watch the match live.
Due to the high demand, hotel room prices have increased sharply, with rates rising by nearly 300–400 percent. In some luxury hotels, the cost of a room has reportedly reached around ₹1 lakh per night. At Taj Sky Hotel, prices have even crossed ₹2 lakh for a single night.
Flight ticket prices have also jumped significantly. Tickets from Mumbai and Delhi to Ahmedabad, which usually cost around ₹3,000, are now priced between ₹15,000 and ₹17,000.
To manage the heavy rush of passengers, Western Railway has arranged a special train from Mumbai Bandra to Ahmedabad.
