In a significant development in the Kamma Kunta issue, the Supreme Court of India has upheld the earlier verdict of the High Court, delivering a major setback to HYDRA authorities. The High Court had questioned how development activities could be undertaken at the lake site while the matter was still pending before the court, raising serious concerns over procedural violations.
The High Court had also directed officials to remove the boards installed at the site. Challenging this order, HYDRA officials approached the Supreme Court seeking relief. However, after hearing the matter, the apex court supported the High Court’s ruling, reinforcing judicial oversight and dealing a blow to HYDRA’s stance in the ongoing dispute.
