Sri Chaitanya student suicide incident - What exactly is happening?

The suicide of Molli Pawan Kumar (17), an intermediate second-year student at Sri Chaitanya Sharada Bhavan in Poranki, Krishna district, has created a sensation across the state. Police revealed that some students attacked Pawan on January 5th and 30th following a dispute with fellow students. Deeply distressed after the videos of the attack were posted on social media, Pawan committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room on January 31st. Following an investigation into the incident, police arrested 12 people, including six students who harassed Pawan and college staff who tampered with evidence.

Meanwhile, student unions and public organizations are demanding strict action against those responsible for Pawan Kumar's death and a compensation of one crore rupees for the victim's family. They are continuing their protests, alleging that the college management is trying to portray the incident, in which senior students brutally beat and killed him, as a suicide. The police are continuing a more in-depth investigation into the case.
