Shantanu Narayen, the long-serving Chief Executive Officer of Adobe, is set to step down from his role after leading the company for nearly 18 years. The California-based technology giant confirmed that Narayen will soon relinquish the CEO position, which he assumed in December 2007. However, he will continue to lead the company as Chairman of the Board until a new CEO is appointed and the transition process is completed.
In a letter addressed to employees, Narayen stated that although he will step down as CEO, he will remain closely associated with the company and continue contributing as Chairman. Under his leadership, Adobe witnessed remarkable growth, expanding its workforce from around 3,000 employees to more than 30,000 and transforming the company into a global software powerhouse. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella praised Narayen, calling him a “legend” who played a pivotal role in making Adobe a key platform for creators, businesses, and brands worldwide.
