In the film industry, even with legacy or talent, there are often instances where individuals are judged based on their appearance. Two decades ago, actor Dhanush also faced similar criticism and humiliation. However, today he has established himself as a global star. His upcoming film “Kara” is set to release on April 30, and promotional activities for the film are progressing at a fast pace. During a recent pre-release event, Dhanush emotionally spoke about the struggles and insults he faced during the early stage of his career and the dedication that led to his success. His remarks have now gone viral on social media.
At the event, he was presented with the bike number plate from his career-defining film “Polladhavan” (2007). Seeing it, Dhanush became nostalgic and recalled the significance of the film, calling it a major turning point in his life. He mentioned that during that period, he was criticized for his physique and mocked for not fitting the typical hero image. However, after appearing with a six-pack physique in Polladhavan, he received overwhelming appreciation from audiences, which gave him immense satisfaction. Referring to the Bhagavad Gita principle “Yad Bhavam Tad Bhavati,” he emphasized the importance of self-belief and hard work. His determination eventually earned him National Awards for Best Actor for films like “Aadukalam” and “Asuran.”
Regarding his upcoming film “Kara,” there are high expectations among fans. Directed by Vignesh Raja, Dhanush will be seen playing a gangster role in this crime drama based on a series of bank robberies. Mamitha Baiju plays the female lead, while Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu appears in a key role. The film is produced by Wealth Film International with music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Scheduled for a worldwide release on April 30, the makers are confident that the film will impress audiences with Dhanush’s intense performance and powerful action sequences.
