Telangana government is moving ahead with plans to build new airports in Warangal, Adilabad and Bhadradri Kothagudem to boost overall development. Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government is taking key steps to improve infrastructure across the state.
The minister said that land acquisition, technical approvals and basic facilities for these airport projects are being fast-tracked. In a review meeting with airport authority officials, he directed that all works should move quickly with support from the central government. For Warangal airport, around 953 acres of land have already been handed over and the foundation stone will be laid soon.
For Adilabad airport, the project will be developed jointly by defence and civil aviation departments along with the state government. A master plan will be prepared soon, and land acquisition will begin. The minister added that this airport will improve transport in North Telangana. Regarding Bhadradri Kothagudem, a detailed study will be conducted to identify a suitable location after earlier proposals were found unsuitable.
