

A road accident occurred on Today morning near Shampur in Utnoor mandal of Adilabad district, creating panic in the area. A bus belonging to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Asifabad depot) lost control and fell from a bridge into a stream. Several passengers travelling on the bus sustained injuries. Local residents immediately responded to the incident and rescued the injured, who were later shifted to the Utnoor Government Hospital through 108 ambulance services for treatment. Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed grief over the incident involving RTC bus TS20T 9369. He spoke with RTC Managing Director Nagireddy and enquired about the details of the accident. According to preliminary information, the mishap occurred due to the absence of a protection wall on the narrow Shampur bridge during the early morning hours. The minister also spoke to the district Collector and Superintendent of Police over the phone and directed officials to provide quality medical treatment to the injured. RTC officials, including regional and depot authorities of Adilabad and Asifabad, are supervising relief measures at the accident site.
