The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced the launch of 62 new Anna Canteens in rural areas, further strengthening its welfare initiatives for the गरीब. These canteens are set to commence operations from this Wednesday, expanding affordable food access across the state.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the programme at Dharanikota in Palnadu district. With this expansion, the total number of Anna Canteens will reach 269 (207 existing + 62 new). The scheme offers breakfast and meals at just ₹5, benefiting nearly 2.10 lakh people daily, with total beneficiaries crossing 8.80 crore so far.
