The Kollywood star and TVK chief Vijay’s upcoming film “Jana Nayagan” has been making headlines due to a major leak controversy. The film unit was shocked after the introduction scene, title cards, and several key sequences surfaced online. The Editors’ Union has strongly denied allegations that editor Pradeep E. Raghav was responsible for the leak. The union clarified that the film copy was sent to Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad on January 14 with the approval of director H. Vinoth and the producers for graphics and sound mixing improvements, questioning why anyone intending to leak would include watermarks.
Taking the matter seriously, the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Division has already arrested six individuals. Those who circulated the film content through cloud storage and Google Drive links have been identified and remanded. Authorities have also blocked more than 300 piracy links. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether studio staff were involved. Meanwhile, political angles surrounding the leak are also being discussed. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin responded by stating that he was not aware of such reports. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) also clarified that there was no fault on their part and that the final copy had been handed over to the makers.
Due to earlier censorship objections and court proceedings, the film’s release has already faced delays. The recent leak has further complicated the situation. Several members of the film industry have strongly condemned piracy. Producers have expressed concerns over significant financial losses. Police are currently investigating individuals who accessed the studio data. Amid all these controversies, the release date of “Jana Nayagan” remains uncertain, keeping fans eagerly waiting.
