Rocking Star Yash’s pan-India film ‘Toxic’, directed by Geetu Mohandas, opened amid massive expectations and recorded strong ticket sales on its first day. However, the film appears to have witnessed a sharp decline in bookings on its second day. Reports suggest that ticket sales on BookMyShow dropped by nearly 60%, with more than 370,000 tickets sold on Day Two. While a dip on a working day may not be unusual, the strong bookings recorded by ‘Irimudi’ during the same period have drawn attention.
Ravi Teja-starrer ‘Irimudi’ reportedly sold more than 500,000 tickets on its second day despite having fewer screens. The strong response for a regional film on a regular working day has caught the attention of trade circles. Compared with the widely promoted pan-India release ‘Toxic’, ‘Irimudi’ appears to be putting up a strong fight with a smaller screen count. With the weekend expected to bring increased footfalls, the performance and booking trends of both films will be closely watched.
