The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to finalise a new title sponsor for Team India’s home matches. Although the deadline for submitting bids ended on August 13, the board has not announced a successful bidder so far. Reports suggest that the BCCI is currently in discussions with several companies, with names such as Google Gemini, Spinny and SBI Life reportedly being considered. The board had invited tenders on July 20 and subsequently completed the stages for document purchase, clarification of queries and submission of bids.
IDFC First Bank currently holds the title sponsorship rights for India’s home matches and pays the BCCI ₹4.2 crore per match. For the latest bidding process, however, the BCCI has fixed a minimum base price of ₹4.75 crore per match. The new agreement is expected to remain valid until March 31, 2028, covering approximately 35 matches, including 10 Tests, 12 ODIs and 13 T20Is. The BCCI has also stipulated stringent financial eligibility criteria, requiring bidders to have an average turnover or average net worth of at least ₹100 crore over the previous three audited financial years. The higher base price and financial requirements are believed to have contributed to the delay in finalising the new sponsor.
