Devotees from across the globe visit Tirumala daily to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara, revered as the deity of the Kali Yuga. The rush intensifies significantly during Mukkoti Ekadashi, when Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan holds special spiritual significance. With the festival approaching, a high-level review meeting on the arrangements will be held in Tirumala on Monday.
State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy will attend the meeting along with senior officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and district administration. The focus will be on crowd management, security measures, and essential facilities for devotees.
The TTD has planned Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan from December 30 to January 8, spanning ten days. Tokens have already been issued through the e-Darshan system for the first three days. To prioritise common devotees, the TTD has decided to provide darshan for a total of 164 hours during this period.
For the remaining seven days, devotees will be allowed darshan without tokens. Special emphasis is being placed on free food distribution, sanitation, drinking water, and smooth queue management, considering the expected heavy influx of pilgrims.
In view of last year’s unfortunate stampede incident during token distribution, the government and TTD are taking stringent precautionary measures to ensure such incidents do not recur. The review meeting aims to ensure a safe, orderly, and comfortable pilgrimage experience for all devotees.
