The Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association has clarified that rumours about a fuel shortage are completely false and misleading. The association stated that petrol, diesel, and other fuel supplies remain stable across the region, with adequate stocks available at major oil companies such as HPCL, IOCL, and BPCL. Supply chains are functioning smoothly without any disruption, ensuring uninterrupted fuel availability nationwide.

However, due to panic buying triggered by misinformation, fuel sales have surged to nearly 2.5 to 3 times the normal levels, leading to temporary stock depletion at some retail outlets. Officials emphasized that this does not indicate an actual shortage. They also warned that storing fuel in cans or unauthorized containers violates PESO safety norms and poses serious fire hazards. Citizens have been advised to purchase fuel only as per their regular needs, avoid hoarding, and refrain from spreading or believing false information.
