The Sammakka Saralamma Mahajatra, regarded as Asia’s largest tribal congregation, will be held at Medaram from January 28 to 31, 2026. To facilitate the movement of millions of devotees, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced the operation of 3,495 special buses across the state. Officials stated that additional services will be introduced if passenger rush increases.
As part of the Mahalakshmi scheme, women devotees will be allowed to travel free of cost in ordinary and express special buses operating to Medaram. Due to higher operational expenses, a 50 percent additional fare will be collected from men and other categories where the scheme is not applicable. Temporary bus terminals, medical camps, and special route services from Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Adilabad regions have been arranged. Passengers can seek assistance through RTC helplines at 040-69440000 or 040-23450033.
Key Dates of the Jatara:
January 28: Arrival of Saralamma at the sacred platform from Kannepalli.
January 29: Goddess Sammakka reaches the platform from Chilakalagutta.
January 30: Devotees offer vows and present jaggery (Niluvettu Bangaram).
