

Monalisa Bhonsle, the young woman who became an overnight sensation on social media while selling flower garlands at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela, has denied rumours about her marriage. She clarified that she married Furman Khan according to Hindu traditions and said it is wrong to link their marriage to “Love Jihad”. After the wedding, the couple appeared before the media together for the first time in Kerala.
Monalisa married Furman Khan at the Arumanur Temple in Kerala. Speaking to the media, she said their wedding was performed completely according to Hindu customs. She also said she respects all religions and believes every religion is equal. Her husband Furman Khan also confirmed that neither of them has changed their religion. With these statements, the couple tried to end the rumours and discussions around their marriage.
Monalisa, who is from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, became popular across the country after videos of her selling flowers and bangles at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela went viral. The attention she received on the internet brought her opportunities in films. Director Sanoj Mishra noticed her and offered her a role in the film “The Diary of Manipur”. For this, she took acting training in Indore and later moved to Mumbai to build a career in the film industry. Recently, she also made headlines after filing a complaint at the Thampanoor Police Station in Kerala, alleging that her father tried to take her back to Indore against her wishes and asking for protection. Soon after this issue, she went ahead with her marriage.
