The Kerala government has announced a grand felicitation for star cricketer Sanju Samson, who played a crucial role in India’s victory in the T20 World Cup final. The event will be held as a massive public gathering under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, celebrating Samson’s outstanding contribution to the historic triumph. State Education Minister V. Sivankutty revealed the plan and praised Samson for delivering a remarkable innings in the final that helped India post a commanding total.
Sivankutty said Samson’s success is a matter of great pride for Kerala and that the celebration aims to honour the cricketer who has inspired thousands of young players across the state. Sanju Samson, a wicketkeeper-batter, grew up near the coastal areas close to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and developed his cricketing skills on local grounds. From there, he rose through domestic cricket to become one of the prominent players from South India in the national team. Samson also gained widespread recognition as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
