Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that Telangana Assembly elections are likely to be held along with the Jamili elections to be held across the country in 2029. Therefore, elections to the state Assembly will not be held in 2028, and his term is likely to be about five and a half years instead of five years. Speaking to the media in Delhi, he explained that the central government will complete the census by 2027 and then carry out the process of redistribution of constituencies.
The CM said that issues such as redistribution of constituencies, increase in seats, and implementation of women's reservation are likely to be finalized after the release of the census. He revealed that after this process is completed, Jamili elections will be held across the country in 2029 based on the new constituencies.
