Amid the Iran–Israel war, Air India has taken a significant decision. The airline announced that it will suspend its flight services to Israel until May 31. An Air India executive confirmed this development and stated that all services operating from New Delhi to Tel Aviv have been temporarily cancelled. This decision is expected to impact nearly 40,000 Indians residing in Israel, many of whom are there for personal and employment-related reasons. With many people trying to return to their home country due to the ongoing conflict, the suspension of these services may cause considerable inconvenience.
Meanwhile, several international airlines have already suspended their flights to Israel, while only a few Israeli carriers continue operations under strict regulations. Air India had launched direct flights from New Delhi to Tel Aviv in January, using the advanced Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. However, following the outbreak of the Iran–Israel war, services on this route have been completely halted. In this context, India’s Ambassador to Israel, J.P. Singh, along with embassy staff, held a virtual meeting with Indians residing in Israel on Saturday and assured them of support during these challenging times.
