Authorities have seized the Hyderabad residence of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa due to pending property tax dues. The house, located in Srinagar Colony, was sealed after officials confirmed that property taxes amounting to ₹83 lakh remained unpaid. The action was taken in accordance with municipal regulations, officials stated.
Jayalalithaa, a towering political figure, passed away while serving as Chief Minister and held the office multiple times in Tamil Nadu. Fondly referred to as “Puratchi Thalaivi” and “Amma” by her supporters, she also had a successful career in cinema before entering politics. Her legacy continues to hold significant influence in Tamil Nadu’s political and cultural landscape.
