

In the 19th season, the chasing team emerged victorious for the fourth consecutive match. In a thrilling contest that went down to the final over, Punjab Kings began their campaign with a remarkable win. After restricting Gujarat Titans with an excellent bowling performance, Cooper Connolly (74* not out) single-handedly guided Punjab to victory. Opener Prabhsimran Singh (37) played a quickfire innings that initially made the chase look comfortable. However, Impact Player Prasidh Krishna (3/29) struck with a series of wickets, putting Punjab under pressure. Despite this, Cooper remained unbeaten till the end and along with Xavier Bartlett (11*), steered the team to victory.
Punjab Kings, the runners-up of the 18th season, started their 19th season with a win. In a closely fought match, they defeated Gujarat Titans by a narrow margin. Even though key players failed to perform, Cooper Connolly anchored the innings with his unbeaten half-century and led the team to success. While wickets kept falling at the other end, he held firm and ensured Punjab crossed the finish line. At Mullanpur, Punjab restricted Gujarat to 162 runs, with Kagiso Rabada striking early. Dangerous opener Priyansh Arya (7) was dismissed after being caught by Ashok Sharma, giving Punjab an early breakthrough.
After losing their first wicket at just 7 runs, Cooper Connolly joined Prabhsimran Singh (37) and the duo played aggressively to rebuild the innings. Together, they added 76 runs for the second wicket and steadied the chase. However, Rashid Khan broke the partnership, bringing renewed tension into the match. Eventually, Cooper’s outstanding innings ensured Punjab Kings reached the target and secured a memorable victory.
