Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Iran claimed that it carried out attacks on data centers of major tech companies, including Oracle Corporation in Dubai and Amazon in Bahrain. According to Iranian state media, these strikes were in response to military actions by the United States and Israel. However, officials in the United Arab Emirates denied the reports, stating that there was no truth in the claims about an attack on Oracle’s data center.
At the same time, Amazon confirmed that its data centers in the UAE and Bahrain were affected, leading to disruptions in operations. Authorities have urged media organizations not to spread unverified information during such sensitive times, as tensions in the region remain high. The situation has raised concerns about the safety of global tech infrastructure in conflict zones.
Earlier, Iran’s military wing had warned that American tech companies could become targets, alleging that they play a role in identifying targets through artificial intelligence systems. Companies like Apple, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Intel, IBM, Dell, Tesla, Boeing, HP and JPMorgan were reportedly mentioned. These developments suggest that tech firms could increasingly become part of geopolitical conflicts.
