The Central government has taken a key decision amid rumors of gas and petrol shortages across the country. To address concerns over cooking gas availability, authorities have decided to distribute superior kerosene through the public distribution system as an alternative measure. This move aims to ensure that households do not face inconvenience due to supply-related uncertainties.
As part of the decision, superior kerosene will be distributed across 21 states and Union Territories. The government has also permitted storage of up to 2,500 liters of kerosene at service stations to strengthen supply readiness. A gazette notification has been issued in this regard, stating that the order will remain in effect for 60 days or until further instructions are released.
