Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting in Amaravati on law and order following the recent explosions at a firecracker unit in Vetlapalem. During the meeting, he directed officials to conduct strict inspections of firecracker manufacturing units and storage locations of explosive materials across the state. The Chief Minister stressed that authorities must ensure that all units follow safety standards, legal guidelines, and approved storage limits.
He instructed officials to take immediate action wherever violations are found and warned against storing firecrackers or explosive materials in houses or unauthorized locations. Chandrababu Naidu also asked departments to review all existing licenses and inspect every storage facility within 15 days. He suggested studying the safety measures followed in Sivakasi, where large scale firecracker production takes place with fewer accidents. Officials were also directed to inspect all 95 firecracker units in the state and take strict action if any irregularities are detected.
